Julian is the latest hero of Mobile Legends which was just released on May 24, 2022. Julian is a fighter/mage hero with abilities to chase and deal burst magic damage (high magic damage in a short time). Julian is the last member of the Forsaken Light Squad, he has a variety of skill combinations but no Ultimate. Julian has a lot of gameplay styles that new players might find difficult to use. So in this article, I will explain and give my recommendations on what is the best emblem and item builds for our new hero, Julian!
Emblem
For the emblem, I recommend you to use the Mage emblem. The best emblem setting for Julian should be maxed on movement speed and penetration. Then use "Magic Worship" Talent to maximize the burst effect of Julian's skills.
Build
For the build, Julian should focus on cooldown, burst, and penetration. The reason why I choose this build is that Julian has the same cooldown on all of his skills, so it is better to benefit from the cooldown reduction from the shoes. For the rest of the items, it is all about burst and penetration magic damage, with the last item being the 'second life' insurance for late game. The item should synergize well with the Magic Emblem that we have set before.
Spell
As a burst-type fighter, it is best to use Julian as an 'ambusher'. So sprint or flicker is the best spell for him so he can get in & get out quickly on the battlefield.
Skill Explanation
So Julian is the first hero who doesn't have ultimate skills. Then what is his specialty? The answer is because Julian uses a new mechanic which is called 'Enhanced' skills. His Enhanced mechanic allows him to use the greater version of his skills to create a lot of playstyles that players can use.
1. First Skill
The first skill is best used to poke enemies from afar. You can utilize this skill if you're against a ranged hero or if you can't win in close combat with your enemy.
Enhanced First Skill
Julian's enhanced first skill has the highest damage among all of Julian's other enhanced skills. You can use this skill to kill squishy (a hero who has a low amount of HP) heroes like marksmen or mages. You can also use this skill to poke the enemy even more so you can have an advantage in the lane.
2. Second Skill
Julian's second skill allows him to dash in a certain direction and deal damage along the way. This skill can also pass through certain walls so it can be used to ambush your enemy or escape.
Enhanced Second Skill
The Enhanced version of Julian's second skill allows him to deal even greater magic damage and has AoE (Area of Effect). This skill is best to use to kill low HP heroes or clear lanes faster.
3. Third Skill
Enhanced Third Skill
Besides greater damage than the basic third skill, Julian's Enhanced Third skill has a greater CC effect which is a knock-up effect. You can use this skill to ambush and stun enemies so your teammates can do a follow-up attack to finish the enemies off.
Don't worry about what skills need to be maximized first, you can even out all the skill levels since all of them have the same cooldown.
